With this in mind Christian and Vadim have paid special attention to maintaining a proactive mindset concerning responsible travel and tourism, in close relation to the mission statement of their partners at whl.travel. They have made a considerable effort to ensure that each hotel partner follows environmentally friendly practices such as installing energy efficient hand-dryers and other appliances, conserving water, minimizing wastes, etc. They are also in the process of replacing the gas scooters used in their Barcelona moto-tours with electric ones as a way of reducing pollution and carbon emissions.

Apart from tours and accommodations in Barcelona, BCN Travel also provides transfers and tours around the surrounding countryside. Meet Christain Petzold of BCN Travel! Hailing from Germany, Christian has been an avid tourism enthusiast for many years. Says Christian about his early appreciation of the travel industry, “Looking back to when my passion for travelling was developed, I think this must have been in my early childhood. My parents always used to travel with me and my siblings by caravan and tent into a neigbouring European country… Eventually this lead me to study tourism management in Germany and the UK… Implementing at least some elements of this experience in a mass destination like Barcelona is one of the aims of our activity and a major reason for me to cooperate with WHL.”

As an active outdoor enthusiast, Christian is an avid biker. He has completed treks around many destinations including a summer cycling tour across the entire country of New Zealand. He is also a die-hard football fan and enjoys playing the sport in any condition.

Without a doubt, Christian’s involvement in BCN Travel has brought invaluable experience to team, and as such he has continued to further the development of their travel agency with their latest venture being their involvement with whl.travel. Christian is fluent in Spanish, French, and English and is ready to assist you with your next holiday vacation to Barcelona!

Meet Vadim Konev, the other crucial member behind the success of the BCN Travel team! As a native Russian, Vadim has been involved in almost every aspect of tourism since a very young age. Every job position he has held in the past has dealt with some aspect of the industry. This lifetime experience is also crucial to why BCN Travel has been so successful in the past few years.

As Vadim explains about his passion for the industry, “I’ve always had passion for tourism. My whole life, education, traveling and jobs were related with tourists. I love the industry. I think it is in people’s blood – to be interested in something new and therefore to travel. I really believe that helping people, providing them with good customer service and making them feel better in general helps you on all levels: first – it will make you happier – and second – it will bring business and strong reputation to you. That’s my philosophy.”

Armed with a degree in tourism management, Vadim has been involved in the tourism and marketing industries for quite some time. It is his passion to introduce people to the local life and culture in Barcelona that has become a driving factor in their agency. Vadim has been living in the area for countless years and is a seasoned veteran when it comes to helping customers discover the untouched side of Barcelona.
